Training and More
At Melmsgard Performance Horses & Training, LLC we offer several different types of training and lessons. We take in horses for training to get started or tuned up, give haul in lessons, as well as give both adult and kids lessons. We will also be offering clinics and camps throughout the year.
Our Facility
Melmsgard is located on a 20 acre farm in Olmstead, KY. We are 20 minutes away from Clarksville, TN, Springfield, TN, and Russellville, KY. Our facility consist of an 18 stall barn, a 60x120 indoor arena, a 150x250 outdoor arena, along with five large pastures all with run in sheds and automatic waters.
Meet the Trainers
Matthew and Elin Pitts are the owners and trainers at Melmsgard Performance Horses & Training, LLC. We both grew up around horses and wanted to pursue our horse training career after Matthew retired from the U.S. Army. Taking our education seriously we both became Master Certified Trainers through Ken McNabb as well as Accredited and Certified Trainers through Josh Lyons with Lyons Legacy.

Cowboy "AJ Zippy Valentine" is an 8 year old bay roan gelding. He has been with us for about a year now and is doing super well. We use him in lessons as well as ride him for ourselves. Charlie "Chics Gold Platinum" is a 6 year old gelding by Platinum Vintage. This guy is super willing and trying to please with everything you ask him to do. His personality is the best too. We have owned Charlie since he was 2 years old.
Lightning is a 2 year old colt that we have in for training.
